Annual Business Meeting

The 2009 Annual Business Meeting of the Rural Electricity Resource Council, Inc. was presided over by Chairman Mickey Miller. The meeting was called to order at approximately 12:30 p.m. in the City View Room of the Embassy Suites Hotel in Covington, Kentucky. Prior announcement of the meeting was advertized to the membership in both a mailing, email correspondence and listing on the Council’s Web site. Based upon pre-registration, a quorum (15 percent of members) was declared.
It was moved that the minutes of the April 21, 2008 Business Meeting conducted in Nashville, Tennessee, be approved as posted on the Council’s website. The motion was seconded and approved.
I. CONFIRMATION VOTE ON DIRECTORS:
Chairman Mickey Miller announced that there were 2 new Directors joining the RERC Board:
•Mike Fuller, CEO & General Manager of Consolidated Electric Cooperative of Mexico, Missouri.
• Rick Gerdeman, Manager and CEO of Midwest Electric Cooperative in Saint Marys, Ohio.
The 2 existing directors who will be renewing their board participation (3-year terms) for RERC include:
• Harry Ruth, General Manager & CEO of East-Central Iowa Rural Electric Cooperative in Urbana, Iowa.
• Dan Brown, General Manager and CEO of Cuivre River Electric Cooperative in Troy, Missouri.
Chairman Mickey Miller made a motion to accept our new Board Members and to reelect the Board Directors who are renewing their terms.
The Motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved.
Recognition was made to outgoing director, Tom Killebrew, Executive VP & General Manager of Sac Osage Electric Cooperative in El Dorado Springs, Missouri, who is retiring from the RERC Board.
All Board of Directors were asked to stand and be recognized.
There being no further business, the Annual Business Meeting of the Rural Electricity Resource Council was adjourned at approximately 12:40 PM.
