Biogas technology is a manure management tool that facilitates the recovery and use of methane gas and biosolids, by using a manure digester. The biogas can be used for on-farm heating or even cooling, or as a fuel source to generate electricity. The other byproducts of the process are biologically stabilized solids, and certain liquids that can be used in a number of ways. Successful applications of these byproducts are as a crop fertilizer, animal feed, livestock bedding, and aquaculture supplement.
