Safe Electrical Wiring Techniques CD
Promote electrical safety and basic wiring using the power of computer graphics and active learning exercises.  Safe Electrical Wiring Techniques is a highly visual learning tool that's great for schools, vocational classes, educational workshops and one-on-one learning.  Dozens of interactive exercises with color graphics take you from basic wiring concepts, all the way to point-and-click assembly of switches, receptacles, GFCI's, 3-way & 4-way lighting circuits, and service panels.

From the main program menu (shown above) the user "flips a switch" to begin learning.

Switch #1 takes you through basic concepts about electricity and circuits.  You'll learn correct terminology, how to recognize wire colors and their location on receptacle outlets or switches, and how electricity is distributed.  A randomly selected 10-question quiz tests your knowledge, and saves your score for later printout.

Switch #2 lets you begin wiring.  As receptacles, single-pole switches, three-way switches, and four-way switches appear, you determine where each wire goes.  Connect wires one at a time by clicking on the correct answer, and you'll see the wire instantly connected as you watch!

Switch #3 puts you inside buildings to do some "virtual wiring".  Choose a building and view the wiring diagram showing each circuit and device.  Then move along the circuit installing each receptacle, light fixture, three-way switch, and service panel connection.  Exercises include:

  •  Residential -- Two circuits in a bathroom addition.
  • Commercial -- Equipment storage building circuits.
  • Agricultural -- Lighting in a machinery shop
Safe Electrical Wiring Techniques is run directly from a single CD-Rom.  There's no need to download it to your hard drive (saves storage space).  Users from sixth grade to adults will enjoy and learn from this program.  There are several applications:
  • Vocational teachers can now add computerized training to their classroom.
  • Electric power suppliers can help local schools teach electrical wiring and safety.
  • College instructors can use the "Student Package" as a classroom text
Begin your active learning adventure with this easy to use CD.   Our goal is to help teachers, students and consumers to upgrade their knowledge of electrical wiring and safety. Substantial discounts are provided for quantity orders.
